26/11 Terror !!! What next ?

26th November 2008 - when India witnessed history with about 10 coordinated attacks on Mumbai.

Today.. 2 days after the 2nd anniversary I sit down with a cup of coffee in my hand watching a documentary by  National Geography revealing horrifying facts about the Mumbai attacks and how easily it was coordinated, I wonder what has changed? and what have we done to ensure that these kind of events are not repeated.?
Pretty hard to answer !! isn't it ?

The fact here remains that the culprits are still unpunished. We were lucky to have one of the terrorist captured alive, but still we have struggled to prove some links that are absolutely obvious and clear, not just for us but for the whole world. Everyone knows who did it and what was the source of these attacks, but we have failed and failed big time to get these proofs on paper. What do we lack ? only the government of India can answer this.  Its nothing but shameful that we haven't been able to do anything solid in terms of reacting to these attacks, its like sitting down and hoping for help after being slapped on an open road with hundreds who know the actual facts.

A big JAI ho !!! to people who fought bravely and to those who have stood up after being knocked off, but the time to give away accolades has long gone, its high time to get going and get terrorism under control.

Why does it take this long for a country like India to bring home justice while dealing with those bunch of idiots !!!!!.

Street Dogs Better Cared For... Than Street Children !!!!

Moving around on the streets the other day I had a small kid nudge me from the back as I was waiting on a traffic signal for the signal to go green. With distress written all over his face he raised  his hands to his mouth with fingers grouped together, very obviously he was trying to indicate that he was hungry!!! This is not the first occasion that I have met this scenario.. its a pretty common sight on Indian roads. But I don't know why, this time it was different. As I just stood there watching him, there was just one question in my mind that I just could not answer, and that was why ??? what did the poor kid do wrong to have to struggle so much to even  get one meal per day. What sin can it be that he is having to pay for ? and I am quite sure that at his age he doesn't even understands a 'sin' properly. May be that's what destiny is all about !!!!

I can't help but feel bad that the Almighty has chosen him for that kind of life, but logically I cannot make out why do we have the animal right's in place if we as a country are not able to preserve basic human rights for these poor kids. Streets dogs are been given sanitation when a kid who probably shares the same footpath with those dogs sleeps hungry. People are penalized for chopping off even one branch of a tree but a slap in a face to the kid when he begs to quench his hunger goes unnoticed.

I don't know who is to be blamed !!! I even don't know what best can I do !! but I do feel bad and every time I come across anything like this it stays in mind for a few days. So this blog is not for drawing any conclusions but just to shed off some weight from my heart and an opportunity to thank the Almighty to give me such a comfortable life.

India - Australia : First Test 2010

What a match !!! India have won a thriller at Mohali. Just the kind of a match 'Cricket' as sport needed after all the spot fixing issues that we have had. An important game not just for cricket to come over all the controversies but also for test cricket to reassure its status as the purest form of the game.

Right from day 1 when Australia started off all guns blazing in the morning session and India crawling their way back into the game with some tight bowling it has been an absorbing game of test cricket played till the end of it.

Plenty of pluses for both teams, Watson for Australia showed that he can adapt to any conditions with a hard fought century in the first innings and followed it up with a brisk knock in the second innings. Seniors for India again proved that they still have plenty in them still left.

All-in-All a fantastic game of cricket. A nerve cracking finish was just the perfect climax. Watch out for the wounded Aussies in the second test. They will be coming hard at the Indians after match being snapped from their grasp by the wagging tail of India.

JAi Ho !! to the Indians. They have fought hard to come up victorious in the first test. An important victory to justify the top spot in test rankings and one that will be remembered for long.

JAi Ho!! India

Ayodhya !!!

Ayodhya verdict !! without doubt the biggest case in Indian history after Independence and the verdict is out !!! I know there is still a chance that it will go to supreme court but as for now the verdict stands and I Thank the Almighty that there are no violent situations recorded yet.

I am not going to try and conclude to whom the verdict favors, I guess its not important. After almost 60 years if ever there should have been a concern it should be stability and peace in the country and I believe (for now at-least) that the government of India and its constitution has risen to the task and we have a pretty mind settling verdict.

I don't know how important the disputed land is for the Hindu's but I believe that as Muslims we can give away the land for the sake of peace in the country. And after all we are the followers of Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and a Masjid can be moved to any other place, there are no such constraint that binds us to that place.

An epic battle and one of its kind that's been  fought legally !!. The government has done what it needs to. The efforts taken to maintain peace are commendable but now its for the citizens to understand their responsibility and keep up the good work and for our politicians to better shut mouths on this.

Its been a constitutional success so big JAi Ho !! to the constitution and JAi Ho to Indians to have such a mature head until now. Lets keep up the good work and lets maintain peace.

JAi Ho !! India.

Common Wealth Games 2010 - India

"Better Than Beijing" These were the words used to describe the Common Wealth Games (2010) to be held in India by top Indian officials hardly a year ago. Promises !!! Promises and some more Promises !!! .

Lets for a moment forget the economics of hosting such an event and just think about only the pride of a nation, South Africa would be proud to host the FIFA world cup and they have the right to, as they did a splendid job hosting it. News is that London is already prepared for the next CWG event. All positive things going around in your mind right now !! . Now lets come back to CWG 2010 India... oops suddenly what comes to mind is FILTHY !! the word used by CWG officials inspecting the venues, now this is the impact that it will have on India's image if the remaining episode of CWG goes wrong.

Who's responsible ???? Mr Kalmadi says, he's not ... because he is not responsible for cleaning the venues himself, and he blames the sporting committee  for handing over the  venues late, the sporting committee comes up with a FULL PAGE article that gives in dates on which each venue was handed over to Mr Kalmadi's team and ooo laa laa those dates look pretty good. Now what ???? I guess nothing its all as usual here in India.

Now dont blame me for criticizing my own country, its the people here who say this for long now and maybe people from other countries too in future if not already, and why won't they or for that matter why won't I, I have seen this time and again. Huge budgets !!!!!   all eaten up. Look at the tumbling path ways .... ceilings collapsing ... beds collapsing as soon as someone thinks of sitting on it !!! Sounds funnny ??? sounds embarrassing !!!!.

Can't go writing any more.I have nothing more to say. We all know how it goes here . We as people of our country can just pray that it atleast ends well now. And yes look out for those traffic jams guys !! I thank god I am not in Delhi :)

Anyways JAI Ho !! to everybody involved .. good or bad ... you like or don't.... this is India and these are our CWG .

 JAI Ho !!! India
